Our New Referral Program for 2012

Portraits Today Studios is happy to announce a new referral program for our current customers and soon to be new friends in 2012. It’s our way of saying “Thank you!”.

The Referral Program
It’s really very simple. When a new customer (someone who has never visited PTS before) comes in to our studios and puts your name down as the reason they are giving us a try, we will enter in to our computer that you have just earned 2 free sheets on your next visit to Portraits Today Studios. As long as you keep referring people you keep earning new sheets!

We actually started this program last week and without even knowing it three of our current customers have earned portrait sheets to their account. Congratulations Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Holwick and Mrs. Newman.

Watch Your Mail
Throughout this week and next you should watch your mailbox if you have visited us before and given us your home address. You will be receiving 2-3 cards like the one shown above. Notice that if you hand these out to your family and friends that they will receive a Free 10×13 on their very first visit. So that’s a bonus for them. There is even a place to write your name in so they don’t forget to mention you and you get the credit!

Need more cards or didn’t receive one in the mail? No problem. Either stop by the studio to pick up as many cards as you like or call us with your address and we’ll put a few in the mail to you.

This should be a pretty easy referral program. You refer us and you earn a couple free portrait sheets. Have fun with it. We look forward to earning more of your business the rest of this year!

Baby Chicks and Bunny Pictures – Spring of 2012

For the third year running, Portraits Today Studios in Olathe, Kansas will be hosting our annual Baby Chicks and Bunny pictures! These annual pictures are cute, fun and priceless. The schedule fills quickly as we get people from cities in Kansas as far away as Lawrence, Salina and Wichita and from Missouri we get people who drive from Oak Grove, Nevada and Maryville. If I were you, I’d schedule my appointment now.

Live Baby Chicks Pictures Begin March 3rd!
I am told our live baby chicks pictures will be arriving on March the 2nd at some point. So March 3rd is Go Day. This event will run through Easter and most likely will end on April 15.

Spring Break Fun
While I cannot be 100% sure of all of these dates, we have provided for you the upcoming Spring Breaks of some of the local school districts to help you with your picture planning. It gets crazy here during Spring Break and that’s part of the fun!

Spring break for the Olathe School District is March 9-19.
Spring break for the Blue Valley School District is March 8-18.
Spring break for Gardner-Edgerton School District is March 9-19
Spring break for the Shawnee Mission School District is March 9-19
Spring break for the Kansas City School District is March 10-18
Spring break for the Liberty School District is March 17-25
Spring break for the Lee’s Summit School District is March 10-18

Open on Sundays
Beginning in March and running through April, we will be open on Sundays again. We will not be open on Easter Sunday so that our employees and their families can enjoy and worship as they please. You know we are generally flexible about working on closed days. But just like Thanksgiving and Christmas, don’t even ask about Easter.

Family Friendly Photography Studio

Portraits Today Studios of Olathe, Kansas is a family friendly photography studio. And, as an owner, that makes me proud! Just today I walked through the door as Marie, one of our photographers, was finishing up with this family of three. The mom went on and on for a couple minutes about what a great job Marie had done. Wow! Talk about knowing your photo studio is in great hands when you are not there. When a customer compliments one of our staff that makes me happy, means they are happy and hopefully the photographer realizes how great they are doing. Attaboy Marie!

Each of our photographers have kids of their own. So we know the ups and downs of photographing families and children of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Below you will see a different bunch of children that I photographed right after the family above. Note that not all the pictures have to be “picture perfect” to produce a lasting memory.

Baby Chicks and Bunny Pictures For Kansas City

It’s the time of year when we here at Portraits Today Studios in suburban Kansas City begin planning for baby chicks and bunny pictures. This will be our third year hosting this event and it is sooooooooo fun and crazzzzzzzzzzzzzy! If there is one thing we’ve learned that we can pass on to you, schedule early!

While we cannot yet tell you when the baby chicks will be arriving here at PTS we can tell you that Oreo, our dwarf rabbit will be arriving on February 15. This will be Oreo’s third year with us. We bought him right before our first live chicks and bunny event in 2010 and he’s still doing great. He’s been living at our house dining on celery, apples and, of course, carrots. He spends most of his days making sure our Siberian Husky doesn’t catch him.

SCHEDULING YOUR CHICKS AND BUNNY PICTURES
Our baby chicks supplier doesn’t yet know for certain when the baby chicks will be arriving. We can assume right about the first week of March. But to be sure, I’d go ahead and schedule for March 17 and later. I can almost guarantee that the chicks will be here by then. Remember, Easter comes early this year on April 8. So schedule early and get in early.

When we know for certain about the baby chicks we’ll be announcing it on this webpage and on our Portraits Today Studios facebook page. So visit facebook and “Like Us” to keep up with the news.

Photography Class Just Added

Just a short post to let you know that we added another photography class for February 23, 2012. That’s a Thursday evening and the class will be from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm. It’s the Basics Camera Class that helps you to get started and start taking pictures off the green box and the “P”.

Our Mastering your Camera class for March 2nd and 3rd is nearly full. A couple spots remain so if you are thinking about joining us you may wish to reserve your time sometime soon.

Lastly, we’re improving our new Populist Photography website nearly every day. We’re adding new content and lessons and what not. By the end of this week it should really be screaming…assuming I get done with taxes soon! The website is devoted to photographers that just figured out how to hold a camera and to would-be professional photographers looking to run a business. We hope you will join us.

Portraits Today Studios is happy to tell you that we are going to be adding more events to our photographic line-up for 2012. Our employees want it. And, judging by the survey responses, you want it.

Valentine’s Day Special – See the promo pic for the details of our Valentine’s Day Special that begins this weekend. We know it’s a little early, but people have already started requesting!

Baby Chicks & Bunny Pictures will be returning for the third straight year here at PTS. The chicks usually hatch in the beginning of March. Easter comes early this year on April 8. Based on previous years, you are going to want to book your appointments early to be sure you get a slot. It gets crazy in here and is a great deal of fun. Slots fill quickly. But don’t book before the first weekend of March because we want to make sure the baby chicks are here!

Portraits in the Park will be returning in April/May and again in September/October.

Princess & Fairies Portraits will be returning in May. Details and weekend to follow.

Firefighter Days will be returning in May. Expect a fun little addition here!

What We Are Still Working On
Rock ‘n’ Roll Portraits, Skateboarding action shots at the local skate park and a few more exciting concepts.
