Today was Senior photography at Cedar Creek day for us here at Portraits Today Studios. Is there anything more fun than talking with young men and women in the transition years of their life? So much energy and hope and enthusiasm. Lisa, seen here, was a delight.

Senior pictures are a lot of fun to make and towards the end of every school year we get quite a few high school seniors looking to get their portraits made before the end of the school year. So we thought we would bring you some of our favorites from the last couple of weeks.

Graduating from high school is an exciting time for everyone involved. And as a student, I didn’t realize how much fun my parents must be having. Now I do. But, I digress. Here is a photo of a high school senior who is graduating from Olathe North High School. Senior pictures are fun to make because I fully realize they will stay with that young person, and their family, for a life time.

Same Day Portrait Studio – As always, our core business here at Portraits Today Studios is as your neighborhood portrait studio. Digital Photography Classes – Kansas City Photo Coach – We get asked all the time to help people take better pictures. And Chris really enjoys teaching photography. So we have decided to set up a schedule of photography courses that you can take if you so desire and if it fits in your schedule. Our photography classes and coaching are designed to be informative, very much hands on and fun. Always fun. The Moms Camera Classes seem to be very well received and we look forward to doing many of those here in 2011.

One Hour Photo Lab – We have a professional photo printer on site and we can print your pictures from your camera here in one hour or less on most occasions. Should you need lab services that we cannot do we are happy to get those done for you. You know, things like huge posters or dog tags or one fold cards. In house we can do your standard 4×6 prints up to 10×30, wallets and more. And all at very competitive prices.

Visit Our Photography Store – Like so many people with websites we decided to make a virtual photography store where you could purchase some of our favorite Canon and Nikon cameras along with some miscellaneous photography items you could probably use. We utilize Amazon’s services so you know you’ll get great service at great prices. Hey, you utilize someone’s website, why not ours?

Christmas Pictures Are Really Gearing Up!

Whew! Christmas pictures are really gearing up here at Portraits Today Studios. So we thought we would bring you some of the fun portraits we have made in these past couple of days. Enjoy.

Look at this little Santa baby. Isn’t he a cutie? He is a member of our Baby’s First Year Photo Club. It’s a heck’uva deal for growing families wanting to keep up to date with their baby portraits. Baby photography is fun and that’s why we like doing it. He had a Santa hat on for a few of the shots but mom liked this baby picture the best.

This teen-something was a pleasure to work with. She is out there auditioning. So if you know of anyone that needs a budding young actress, give us a call and we’ll forward them your number.

We absolutely, positively, without-a-doubt love, love, love to make senior portraits. Senior pictures are a right-of-passage for all graduating students anymore. This high school senior is our of Olathe Northwest and this is one of his senior portraits. One of the fun things to do to make a quality senior portrait is to involve something the young man or woman likes to do and/or feels passionate about. I love this senior portrait because it mixes his passion for music, his joy for life and yes, a little reluctance to make his senior pictures. Not all that uncommon for the boys.

And, of course, it’s Christmas pictures time here in Kansas City. For many families, Christmas is the time to catch up on their family portraits. The loved ones have all gathered. All you really need is to get them organized and head on in to the portrait studio. We get lots of groups of 11 or 14 or even 23 people. It’s challenging. It’s hard work. But it sure does bring a smile to the faces of everyone when we make a beautiful family portrait.

Enjoy the holidays this Christmas 2010. Remember what you’re thankful for on Thanksgiving. And don’t forget to reach out to at least one person in need. Even if money is tight an encouraging word can make a difference in someone’s life. Think back to when someone encouraged you…and then pay it forward.

Senior Pictures have been the topic of conversation around here lately. Even though we are steaming in to the Christmas and Thanksgiving seasons we have plenty of high school seniors wanting to make their Senior Portraits. So we thought we would share a few from the last week.

This young lady is an Olathe North Senior. Though she wasn’t specifically getting her senior pictures done I thought I would throw this one in since she is a high school senior and I like the pic.

And this young musician is also an Olathe North Senior.

This young man came to us from Spring Hill, Kansas and plays a little football.

It’s time to get moving on booking your Senior Pictures portrait session. We’ve been getting quite a few calls and email regarding high school seniors from Shawnee Mission and Olathe, Gardner-Edgerton and Blue Valley asking about getting their senior pics done.

Here at Portraits Today Studios we don’t like to “over-process” the senior pictures we produce. We do like to have fun with them. Some seniors and their parents want us to push the limits. Some want nice, conservative senior pictures that have stood the test of time for decades. Most like to get a mix of the both.

PRICING
Here at Portraits Today Studios in Olathe we do not believe that your senior pictures need to cost as much as a semester in college. You’ll have that expense soon enough. We try to keep our senior picture packages very affordable. We have our “Yearbook” package starting at a mere $155.00. Pricing goes up from there and we can get as customized as you would like.

OPTIONS
We want you to have options. When you review our pricing note that clothing changes and, quite possibly, location changes are covered. But we can get even more “custom” if that is what you like. We’ve traveled to the Gulf Coast for senior pictures, to the Chesapeake Bay and to the Ozark Mountains. We can work with Kansas City’s urban settings or Gardner’s rolling hills.

PERSONALIZE YOUR SENIOR PICTURES
We really want you to think about how to personalize your senior pictures. If you are in sports, let’s use that. Are you a skateboarder? Dance? Some high school seniors are bookworms, or excellent chemistry students. Give us a call so we can brainstorm an individualized senior portrait.

Senior Pictures for Blue Valley Student

We recently did some senior pictures for a Blue Valley student who lives in Overland Park. We did more than a few of the portraits here in our portrait studios and then we went to a local park here in Olathe for a few outdoor shots. Sure, we could have driven to a park in Overland Park…but the Olathe park was closer. And it has some nice backgrounds. But I digress, again.

We love to make senior pictures here at Portraits Today Studios and believe we have a very affordable senior portrait packages for all our local high school students to take part in.
