We’ve been having some fun with 4th of July portraits lately. And that just makes sense. Here is a portrait of a veteran of the United States Navy. Though he retired a couple years back it’s still a very big part of who he is.

And here are a couple of fun portraits of children celebrating the 4th of July.

Remember, this Saturday between 11:30 and 2:00 pm we are serving free hot dogs and chips to anyone that wants to stop by the studio to say “hello” and to look around. Past and future clients and friends are always welcome. Also, we’ll have a special sale on gift certificates you’ll want to know about good on that day only! Adult Portraits For Fun & Business

Sure. Portraits Today Studios takes far more portraits of babies, children and families than we do adult portraits. But make no mistake. We do plenty of portraits for adults. Of course, we do a lot of photography for real estate agents, insurance agents and the like. But we also have a few folks we do product photography for and portrait sessions just for the fun of it. Or to turn a man’s head.

One of the great pleasures of being a photographer is photographing teens and high school seniors. Of course, high school senior photography has it’s own category and gets all the publicity. Photography for Real Estate Agents

Photography for real estate agents is a growing business that we are happy to serve. We understand the needs most real estate agents have and their time/budget constraints. After all, no sale means no commission which means no new shoes for Johnny. Portraits Today Studios is here to help you to look good. We can help with your marketing photos. We can help with your real estate photography. We can help in ways you may not have dreamed of.

The best part of photography is capturing a moment in time that represents who that person is. We can do that with your portraits for your business cards, websites and social media sites. You will probably need more than one shot for all of those needs. PTS will take about a dozen shots and burn your favorite 3-4 shots (with minor touch-ups included!) onto a cd that has a copyright release.

Why is the copyright release important? Because you will need it for your advertising on business cards, yard signs and heck, even on the sides of buses.

Our real estate head shot fees for the 3-4 photos with copyright release on a cd start at $69.95. For 99.9% of real estate agents that will be enough to last you for a while. However, if you have some customized ideas that will take us out of the studios or you are wanting to get several more “candid” style shots while you are in we can do that to and we’ll be more than fair on the additional pricing.

When you ask us to go out to the houses we’ll discuss that on a per house basis. It’s more affordable than you may think. And you can ask us about our Share the Risk pricing. If you don’t sell, we don’t get paid either. But we know our real estate photography will make people stop and notice when they are going through the internet listings that are out there. Couple’s Portraits: A Very Nice Surprise

Romance is important for couples to survive. My wife and I have been married for twenty-three years. And every once in a while I can come up with something romantic to do that is fun and memorable. And so did this gentleman. I liked his plan. He and his wife have four boys. So he found daycare and cleared the day from anything distracting. Then he and his wife went out to do whatever they wanted…whatever that was.

They did have one appointment, however. And that was with us here at Portraits Today Studios. They came in and wanted to create a nice portrait they could be proud of. Here’s hoping these two portraits provide them with years of happy memories. Congratulations on ten years!

Engagement Photos For Two New Love Birds

Variety. I love it. One day I’m shooting photos of newborns. And in the very same day I can be shooting engagement photographs for these two love birds. For these two we went on out to Heritage Park and had a little fun in a few different places I have scoped out. It was hot. And I do mean hot!

In order to make it look like they weren’t sweating all over themselves I did have to spend a little time on the computer evening out the reflections from the perspiration. Now the bride-to-be was obviously not the big part of the problem. It’s always the groom. Always the groom. In all seriousness, these two were a lot of fun to work with and I believe they were genuinely happy with their results. They were referred by friends of Portraits Today Studios. For that we are grateful.

Actor Headshots Right Here At Portraits Today Studios

Today I was going to bring you more cute photos taken over last weekend of babies and children. But decided I would show you this photo of a young man from Olathe who needed some actor head shots because he is auditioning for High School Musical 4. Now, my eleven year old just had to rush up and get his autograph in case he made the cut!

He’s a good young man. Sixteen, actually. He’s following his dreams and here is to hoping he chases them with perseverance and tenacity. A dash of luck is always nice, too.

Senior Pictures Been Keeping Us Busy

Senior Pictures have been keeping us busy here at Portraits Today Studios. Some of you are aware we have a sister website over at www.seniorphotoskc.com that is made just for the high school seniors looking for their portraits to be done by professional photographers.

Even though this website is devoted primarily to childen’s portraits and family photography we thought you might like to see some of what goes on when we work with these young men and women on their senior pictures. The young man on the left loves his music. On the right we have a Gold Gloves boxer.

When life moves on many high school kids have to put aside their dreams for real world realities. Isn’t it worth the time and trouble to help them remember, if only for a passing moment as the years go by, who they were and how they got here?

Pictures That Show Who You Are

We all have them. Pictures of ourselves and loved ones looking right into a camera, sitting or standing with perfect posture and smiling. There is a place for those photos on our walls. There is also a place for photos that give a glimpse into who we really are.

I love this photo shown here. This young man came in to our store with his girlfriend. Both are hearing impared. Both full of life and wanting more than the standard portrait photo. We took a lot of fun pictures. But this is my favorite. Look at him. He’s smiling and communicating and seems at ease. We know he’s busy saying something because of the soft image of hands in motion. From the smile on his face we assume his conversation is light and fun.

A great many of our clients like to play their family or individual portraits safe. And that’s okay. But when you come in to Portraits Today Studios please let us know if you want to experiment a little. Sure, we can take some “safe” and “standard” poses, as well.

If you are willing to share who you are, if you are willing to relax and play along. I’m sure that we can come up with photos that you will be proud of for years to come. Photos that capture a moment in time that will bring you back again and again. Photos that will tell generations to follow who you were. Not just what you looked like.
