We are officially entering the busy season here at Portraits Today Studios so we wanted to come to you with our Upcoming Photo Dates and Events calendar to let you know how to prepare.

Current Special
Our Current Special for the Halloween and Harvest Fest Season is one 8×10 and nine photo cards for just $14.95. This little mini session and package is perfect for getting great pictures of your kids in costume so you can get them out to Grandma’s and Grandpas everywhere.

Christmas Cards Special
Now through November 5, 2011 we are offering all of our Christmas and Holiday Cards at 20% off our regular pricing. All you have to do is ask! This helps us get our loyal friends in a little earlier and leaves room for our new friends as we creep closer to Christmas.

Halloween Photo Event
Though not 100% confirmed, we will most likely be at the Olathe Chick-fil-A on Halloween evening offering free 5×7′s to any kids in costume. That’s right, free!

NOVEMBER 1 – Bedtime Stories with Santa registration begins at our Birthday Open House
That’s right, it’s our 3rd birthday! (Thank you so much!!!!!!!!) And to celebrate we’re doing two things that day:

Opening up our Bedtime Stories with Santa registration on a first come first served basis.
Having an Open House from 4-7 pm with birthday cake, beverages and some really fun door prizes!

For your planning purposes Bedtime Stories with Santa will be offered on:

Friday, December 16

Sunday Hours
Effective Sunday, October 30, 2011 thru December 18, 2011 Portraits Today Studios will offer hours on Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00.

Holidays Closed
Portraits Today Studios will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

We will be open from 9:00 till 1:00 on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve for you last minute stragglers.

Portraits Today Studios looks forward to helping you with all your photography needs through the holiday season. We cannot thank you enough for the growth we’ve experienced over these three years. You are the best!

Relay for Life

One of our photographers here at Portraits Today Studios is a volunteer for the local Relay for Life put on in benefit to the American Cancer Society. Kim works really hard each year to recognize the survivors and to help raise money to fight cancer. Isn’t amazing how far we’ve come against cancer in just these last 30-40 years? Imagine how much farther we can go!

Anyway, I stopped by ODAC last evening for about an hour to take a few photos of the opening ceremony. You can find all the photos on our photo ordering website. But you don’t have to order. You can go to just look, if you want.

The boys (and girls) will love this! I have kids sized bunker gear coming in and a really, really, really cool old time fire hose courtesy of an Olathe Fire Department Captain who donated it from his personal collection.

Dog Days of Summer – All July long!
This is will be a most fun pet portrait event. Animal photography usually carries with it a $10 sitting fee for the first pet. In July we are waiving the pet sitting fee and having a Cutest Pet Contest as well as each portrait sheet being only $10.00 if the pet is included! More to follow.

We had the pleasure of helping out the Olathe Chick-fil-A with their first ever Mother Daughter Tea. As we usually do we offer a Free 5×7 for all the participants.

About the Free 5×7
You get a Free 5×7 if you come by our portrait studio in Olathe. You may choose your photo online and we will ship it to you. But know that you will be charged $1.00 online for the photo and a shipping charge if you order online. But you can do that as a convenience as many people just find that easier. But we want to stress, you can get your free 5×7 by just stopping by any time we are open. See our hours on the “hours” tab on the left.

About the Photos
The sun was brutal that day. But only a photographer would complain about a 68 degree sunny day in November, right? Anyway, before we print your picture we’ll crop it appropriately and color/density correct the photo. We’ll also do any MINOR touch-ups like a scratch on the cheek or eliminating a small blemish.

Chick-fil-A Father Son Campout

Looking for pictures for the Olathe Chick-fil-A Father Son Campout pictures? You can find them by following the Find Your Photos tab to the left and typing “chick” into the Name box or on the menu bar. Or just click the picture to the left. Depending on when you see this you may need to search “chick” or “father son.” You need to know that I decided to password protect the pictures before I published them. I didn’t realize so many kids would have name tags on identifying them and so to be safe with your kids we added the password.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it’s for your children’s safety. To get the password you can hit the Contact Us on our menu bar and tell us what color shirt the photographer was wearing and/or a little about the event that only someone who went would know. We’ll email you back the password.

Again, sorry. But I’d rather add a little inconvenience than just put pictures of kids out there with their names on them without your permission. That wouldn’t be cool.

A Word About the Free 5×7 Offer
I’m adding this because of the phone calls and emails I’m receiving. We posted the photos online for your review. And you are welcome to order online and even share the link with your family and friends. But the online website is third party. So we have to pay them if you order online and that is why there is a minimal fee for the “free” 5×7.

As stated in the flier you can receive a Free 5×7 by stopping by our studios here in Olathe. We are more than happy to give you the Free 5×7 with no strings attached. But we do this a fun service. So free doesn’t extend to us delivering and or shipping the pictures to you. Please understand. And yes, you may purchase additional pictures if you choose to do so. We won’t make you.

Sorry for all the confusion. We wrote it on the flier but I’ve had more questions this time than any other time I’ve done it so I just wanted to clear it up. Thanks!
