We are officially entering the busy season here at Portraits Today Studios so we wanted to come to you with our Upcoming Photo Dates and Events calendar to let you know how to prepare.

Current Special
Our Current Special for the Halloween and Harvest Fest Season is one 8×10 and nine photo cards for just $14.95. This little mini session and package is perfect for getting great pictures of your kids in costume so you can get them out to Grandma’s and Grandpas everywhere.

Christmas Cards Special
Now through November 5, 2011 we are offering all of our Christmas and Holiday Cards at 20% off our regular pricing. All you have to do is ask! This helps us get our loyal friends in a little earlier and leaves room for our new friends as we creep closer to Christmas.

Halloween Photo Event
Though not 100% confirmed, we will most likely be at the Olathe Chick-fil-A on Halloween evening offering free 5×7′s to any kids in costume. That’s right, free!

NOVEMBER 1 – Bedtime Stories with Santa registration begins at our Birthday Open House
That’s right, it’s our 3rd birthday! (Thank you so much!!!!!!!!) And to celebrate we’re doing two things that day:

Opening up our Bedtime Stories with Santa registration on a first come first served basis.
Having an Open House from 4-7 pm with birthday cake, beverages and some really fun door prizes!

For your planning purposes Bedtime Stories with Santa will be offered on:

Sunday Hours
Effective Sunday, October 30, 2011 thru December 18, 2011 Portraits Today Studios will offer hours on Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00.

Holidays Closed
Portraits Today Studios will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

We will be open from 9:00 till 1:00 on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve for you last minute stragglers.

Halloween Photo Cards

We love to make fun Halloween photo cards here at Portraits Today Studios. So far, we have six photo card templates to choose from for this upcoming season of candy beggin’. And who knows? Maybe we’ll come up with a few more.

Keep track of us here at PTS because on October 1 we’ll be announcing on this website and on our facebook page (friend us!) our October Special and how/when you can begin to register for our annual Bedtime Stories with Santa events. But more on those later.

Your Neighborhood Portrait Studio

Portraits Today Studios is a locally owned and operated portrait studio here in Olathe, Kansas. And we like to think of ourselves as your neighborhood portrait studio. We’ve had a fun couple of weeks, like most of you, what with the 4th of July and all. We thought we would bring you some of the highlights from the last few days…

We do quite a few business head shots for professionals of all kinds here at PTS. Realtors use our services quite a bit for this purpose as do people in the corporate world and those that need a professional head shot for web purposes.

It should be obvious that we would do a lot of family photography here, too. After all, Olathe and Kansas City are completely family friendly, right?

And oh boy, do we photograph kids. Kids of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Many are happy to see us. Others, well, not so much. But the joy they bring to our faces….and apparently to your faces, too. Children’s photography is what keeps us going, quite frankly. It keeps us young…and that’s never a bad thing.

Baby photography. It’s competitive. It’s exhausting. And it’s fun! You have many choices in Kansas City for baby photography. There are the more expensive boutique photographers. And then you have the national chains like Kiddie Kandids and JC Penny and whomever. We’d love for your to give us a chance. You should check out our Baby’s First Year Photo Club.

Chris loves sports photography! That’s how he got his start. And he worked his way up to getting the chance to photograph the Washington Freedom women’s soccer team when Mia Hamm and Pretinia were on the squad. It was great fun! If your child participates in sports or dance won’t you recommend us to their coach or league?

And of course we love to have special events here at Portraits Today Studios. Currently, we have Dog Days of Summer going on where we are featuring our pet photography at a discounted rate and having a fun contest. Through out the year we also hold Portraits in the Park, Princess & Fairies Portraits, Firefighter Portraits and Bedtime Stories With Santa. We’re always open for a new idea, too!

Preview of Firefighter Picture Day

We’re very excited that Princess and Fairies Pictures are starting next Saturday. The girls love those special portrait events. But we thought we’d bring you a preview of our Firefighter Picture Day that is coming up on June 18. We’ve never done these before so we are very excited about the possibilities!

Princess & Fairy Portraits
We have a couple fun events coming up here at Portraits Today Studios. Pictured here are some of the Princess and Fairy Portraits we made at last year’s inaugural event. We love to make the little princesses in your life look beautiful and have fun. We have a few princess outfits to choose from and, of course, you can wear your own. We also have butterflies, tiaras and wands. It’s a fun couple of days.

Firefighter Portraits
Pictured here is a portrait I pieced together from some work we are beginning to do on a really cool fire template. We’ll be shooting the kids on a green screen so we can drop them in to a work that looks like they are fighting an actual fire. It’s gonna be huge fun! We’ll even use a little charcoal on the willing would-be firefighters to darken their cheeks and noses! And of course, we’ll take some more serious style portraits. The only thing we can really promise about these is that you will have fun, you will smile and you will love the memories we make.

In fact, he and his sister were some of the first customers we had the pleasure of serving right after we first opened our doors in 2008.
